Hope you are all good.
As you may have seen last night in the Government Press Conference, a return for recreational Cricket was announced with guidelines to be issued over the coming days.
The Thames Valley League have this morning announced that, pending the ECB confirmation, they would start league Cricket from Saturday 18th July. This would be the 1st XI playing at home against Binfield, and the 2nd XI playing away at Windsor. The TVL have put a caveat that this depends on the adaptions the ECB are going to make. For example if they say it is going to be 20 over a side games, the TVL may decide not to move forward with a formal season & league table but allow clubs to arrange friendlies. We will share more information on this when we get it.
In the mean time, I have put up two fixtures. Thursday 9th July & Saturday 11th July, we also have a Sunday game against Aldermaston scheduled for Sunday 12th July. We are confirming with Aldermaston whether they would still be able to play next Sunday.
Please can you indicate your availability for these three dates, and also the future Saturday's & Sunday fixtures up to the end of the season. We are looking to plan several interclub games on potentially Thursday night, definitely Saturday afternoon and maybe Sunday afternoon pending the confirmation from Aldermaston.
We can't wait to get back playing Cricket again, the ground is looking fantastic and we hope you are excited too. The committee are meeting on Tuesday night to ensure the club is ready to follow any guidelines in place, we will be opening the bar during and after any games that take place as we have plenty of space for people to sit outside and enjoy a drink.
